"Catch A Corner", by "Cinque" (pronounced "Cheen-kwe") features a who's who of jazz and R&B/funk musicians - Steve Gadd on drums, Joey DeFrancesco on Hammond B3 organ, Peter Cardinali on bass, Robi Botos on piano and Fender Rhodes, and Johnny Johnson on tenor, alto, soprano and baritone saxes. The groups' first release spans across a wide musical landscape - from smoking B3 trio jazz, to down and dirty funk and R&B.
This is what you get when some of the best musicians in the world decide to get together and simply do their own thing. Donny Harvey, MuzikReviews
There are no 'bad' moments on this album. It's a nearly perfect blend of good musical taste with virtuosic ability. I guess this is how you play when you've got nothing to prove. The Jazz Writer
This funky quintet put out the tightest soul-jazz recording of the year. You want to party where these guys party. Steve Greenlee, The Boston Globe
